Have Bank Branches Turned into Sales Offices?

“Sir, would you like to invest in mutual funds?”

This is my 2nd #experience (happened yesterday at a bank branch). I had visited the branch for some documentation work related to my #account. The #officer had different plans though.

She paused, lowered her voice, and said, “Sir, we are under a lot of #pressure to sell. Why don't you avail a business loan or an auto loan or something.”

She was hell-bent on "selling" something. That moment felt heavy. Not because she was doing her job — but because her peace of mind was missing.

#Sales pressure doesn’t just push #products. It pushes #anxiety, #fear, and #insecurity onto #people who came to serve.

>No one #wins in such a system.

>The #employee carries stress #home.

>The #customer senses #manipulation.

And the #organisation slowly erodes its own #credibility. This is what #unconscious#leadership looks like:

-Targets without empathy.

-Growth without responsibility.

-Numbers without human consideration.

Maybe it’s time we stop calling this “performance” and start calling it what it really is — misalignment.
